September 10, 2017 11th Annual Town of Indian Head Car Show
Indian Head Baptist Church
Christian Sportsmen Fellowship
Southern Maryland Chapter
Club members met at the Burger King located at Accokeek by the Food Lion, Sunday morning of the show, to have a light breakfast together and then head out together to the Indian Head Village Green to participate in the 11th Annual Town of Indian Head Car Show. This event was sponsored by the Indian Head Baptist Church. Once there the cars parked and as together as possible and settled in for a perfect weather day! Some members and friends arrived later and parked as near to one another as possible. It was a well-coordinated family event that by judging time, 120 cars had registered!
Continental breakfast pastries, water were all provided, there is never any charge at this event. You received a free lunch ticket with your registration fee to enter your car for the judging. Popcorn is popped continually during the event and other snacks and water are available also.
By 2:30 cars had been judged and we all gathered up near HardRock’s DG, Bob Hartman, who always does a great job, for the presentation of trophies! As winners were announced, they stepped up for their trophy and a photo was taken as each received it as well as a hardy hand shake of congratulations! Several of our Tri-County Cruisers’ came away with trophies!
One of our members won in the Top 5 category:
Rose & Mike Tompkins for their ’69 Maroon Camaro
Top 20 category:
Dan Fellner for his ’55 Chevy Nomad
Ron Gregory for his ’67 Lincoln Continental
Bill Bushey for his ’31 Ford Model A Deluxe Coupe
Roger Smyre for his ’71 Cuda Plum
Larry & Sandy Mills for his ’41 Willys Coupe
Margaret-Ann & Roger Hamilton for their ’69 Camaro
It was a perfect day and a great opportunity to sit and talk with many rodder friends who had come to support this annual event of fellowship.
